Batson-Cook Construction announced the appointment of Curt Rigney as senior vice president and general manager of its new regional office in Charlotte. Rigney, a 12-year veteran of Batson-Cook who has worked on several of the firm’s most notable Charlotte projects, including Duke Energy Center, will carry overall responsibility for the successful delivery of all projects managed out of the firm’s local office. At present, Batson-Cook has four projects under way in Charlotte: Museum Tower Apartments and SkyHouse II in Uptown, The Gibson in Plaza Midwood, and The Element South in Ballantyne. Rigney brings more than two decades of solid construction experience to his new role. In that role, he executed the SkyHouse Program – a $1 billion venture to build 17 luxury high-rise apartment buildings in Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Austin, Dallas, Houston and Denver within a five-year time-frame.

Batson-Cook Construction announced the promotion of Paul Meadows to vice-president of the company’s West Point, Georgia, construction office. In his new role, Mr. Meadows carries overall responsibility for the strategic planning, business development and construction operations of the office, along with other tasks essential to the growth of both the office and company. Mr. Meadows succeeds Joe Appleton who, after six years as senior vice-president and general manager of the West Point office, has relocated to the company’s Atlanta office. Mr. Meadows, most recently served as Project Executive for the West Point office. He has been involved with several of the company’s highest-profile projects in the region, including Blue Cross Blue Shield Call Center, Chattahoochee River Restoration/Whitewater Course, and National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center at Patriot Park, all of which are in Columbus.
