Dialog Semiconductor plc Announces Global Distribution Agreement with Digi-Key Corporation
Mar 11 15
Dialog Semiconductor plc announced a global distribution agreement with Digi-Key Corporation. Digi-Key has Dialog's SmartBond Basic and Pro development kits in stock for immediate delivery. The kits offer engineers the fast and easy route to developing intelligent connected devices, particularly where small size and low power consumption are critical, such as in battery-powered wearables and other IoT applications. The kits are based on Dialog's DA14580 and DA14581 System-on-Chip (SoC) ICs. These highly integrated devices combine a Bluetooth low energy radio with an ARM(R) Cortex(R)-M0 application processor and intelligent power management. Processor resources are accessible via 32 GPIOs to enable development of fully hosted applications. The SoCs measure 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm and need just five external components to create complete solutions that consume less than half the power of alternatives. SmartBond Basic is a single-board kit with integral flash memory for software development. The Pro version of the kit includes mother and daughter boards and a power profiler to enable power-optimised coding. Both kits are supported by Dialog's SmartSnippets(TM) software development environment, which includes Bluetooth Smart SIG-qualified profiles ranging from proximity to health and fitness, medical, smart home, and security. Software Upgrade Over The Air (SUOTA) is supported.
Alliance Memory and Digi-Key Team Up to Supply Market with Legacy Micron Semiconductor 512M SDRAMs
Mar 2 15
Alliance Memory recently announced that its 32M x 16 MT48LC32M16A2P-75: C (commercial temperature), 32M x 16 MT48LC32M16A2P-75 IT:C (industrial temperature), 64M x 8 MT48LC64M8A2P-75:C (commercial temperature), and 64M x 8 MT48LC64M8A2P-75 IT:C (industrial temperature) 512M synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) devices -- which the company recently acquired from Micron Semiconductor the rights and license to supply -- are now available from Digi-Key. In addition, Digi-Key will be offering Alliance-marked (M) 512M SDRAMs manufactured by Micron, which are 100 Devices with the Alliance Memory part numbers are 100% equivalent to the corresponding Micron part number, and each device has been manufactured to the same wafer/assembly and test materials and process as the corresponding Micron part number, with only the top-side marking being different. Micron manufactures these devices exclusively for Alliance Memory. The MT48LC32M16A2P-75:C (AS4C32M16SM-7TCN), MT48LC32M16A2P-75 IT:C (AS4C32M16SM-7TIN), MT48LC64M8A2P-75:C, and MT48LC64M8A2P-75 IT:C is optimized for medical, industrial, automotive, and telecom applications requiring high memory bandwidth, and they are particularly well-suited to high-performance PC applications. Offered in a 54-pin TSOP II package, the devices operate from a single +3.3 V (+/-0.3 V) power supply and are lead(Pb)- and halogen-free. PC100- and PC133-compliant, the devices provide programmable read or write burst lengths of 1, 2, 4, 8, or full page, with a burst termination option. An auto precharge function provides a self-timed row precharge initiated at the end of the burst sequence. Easy-to-use refresh functions include auto- or self-refresh, while a programmable mode register allows the system to choose the most suitable modes to maximize performance.
