Bob Kelly Joins National University as its Executive-In-Residence

The outgoing president of the San Diego Foundation has been hired by National University as its executive-in-residence for the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy, part of the private, nonprofit university's new Sanford Education Center. Bob Kelly, who is retiring from the foundation after 20 years, will help develop a community advisory group and partnerships with organizations, and provide strategic insight for the institute. Kelly also will teach selected courses and help develop seminars and certificate and degree programs. Kelly served as the president and CEO of The San Diego Foundation for two decades. Before joining the foundation, he was the executive director of the American Cancer Society in San Diego and vice president of its Southern California region.
National University Names Gangaram Singh as Associate Provost, effective July 1, 2014

Dr. Gangaram Singh has been named Associate Provost at National University, effective July 1, 2014. Dr. Singh comes to National University from San Diego State University where he previously served as Department Chair, Associate Dean and Interim Dean with SDSU's College of Business Administration. As Associate Dean, Dr. Singh contributed to strategic renewal of SDSU's College of Business Administration by leading the AACSB maintenance of accreditation and participating in SDSU's educational effectiveness team, assuring compliance with Western Association of Schools and Colleges standards and supporting continuous improvement. Dr. Singh also spearheaded strategic growth with particular attention to curriculum development and revision in his roles as Chair, Associate Dean, and Interim Dean. In his new role, Dr. Singh will work closely with National University Provost Debra Bean to ensure the school's continued advancement and success as a higher education institution serving the needs of working students and adult learners seeking a quality academic experience.
National University Announces Executive Changes

Dr. Michael R. Cunningham has been named President of National University effective July 1, 2013. Dr. Cunningham is joining National University from San Diego State University (SDSU), where he has been serving as Dean of the College of Business Administration since June 2011. Dr. Cunningham replaces retiring Interim President Patricia Potter and will lead the University's commitment to providing a world-class education for its 23,000 full-time students working toward one of National's 133 graduate or undergraduate degrees, or one of its 23 credential programs. Prior to being named Dean at SDSU, Dr. Cunningham had been teaching strategy and entrepreneurship courses at SDSU, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and New York University. He entered the education industry after a highly successful business career that included 25 years as an entrepreneur and successful business leader. He was the Founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Cunningham Graphics International from 1989-2000.
