ProtoKinetix, Incorporated Enters into Royalty Agreement with the Governors of University of Alberta

On or about April 8, 2015, ProtoKinetix, Incorporated entered into a Royalty Agreement between the company and the Governors of the University of Alberta (UAB) for the assignment of UAB's portion of certain patents and all rights associated therewith. The Agreement also grants UAB a royalty of 5% of the gross revenue from the assignment, manufacturing, sale, distribution, or licensing of the Patent Rights and any commercial products generated from the Patent Rights. The company has the irrevocable option to purchase the royalty for CAD 5,000,000 for two years from the earlier of the first date UAB publishes its research related to the Patent Rights or September 1, 2015. Through this assignment, the company has gained UAB's portion of US provisional patent application no. 62/007,626 related to the use of anti-aging glycopeptides to enhance beta cell health, survival and improve transplant outcomes, and all patents issuing from and claiming priority to such application.
Ceapro Expands License Agreement with University of Alberta for PGX Technology

Ceapro Inc. announced an expansion to its agreement with the University of Alberta for the development and commercialization of an innovative drying technology called Pressurized Gas eXpanded Technology (PGX) to include all fields of use, including emerging industrial opportunities. The original agreement was established in April 2014 for the development and commercialization of the PGX technology in select large markets like cosmeceuticals, functional food, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. PGX is a novel technology for processing water-soluble biopolymers that provides several benefits including drying, micronization, functionality, purification, impregnation and extraction. PGX technology can produce numerous morphologies of biopolymers ranging from fine fibers to granular powder and has the potential to find commercial success in a wide range of industries including pharmaceuticals and nano-scale industrial products.
