Holland & Knight Announces Appointment of Partners, Effective from January 1, 2015

Holland & Knight announced 16 attorneys in the firm have been elected to partnership effective Jan. 1, 2015. Dallas-based associates Michael D. Emerson and Angelique Lehmann Waddell, and senior counsel Paul W. Smith were among the group chosen to become partners. All are members of the firm's business practice. Emerson represents a variety of financial institutions, including banks, finance companies and hedge funds, in connection with their lending and other finance transactions. Waddell represents agent banks, investment banks, hedge funds and other institutional investors in structured financings, leveraged and acquisition financings, and other forms of debt and equity financings. Smith focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, public offerings, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, compliance and corporate governance matters.

Holland & Knight LLP Appoints Jason H. Baruch as Partner in its Litigation Practice Group

Jason H. Baruch has joined the firm of Holland & Knight as a partner in its litigation practice group. Baruch previously was a shareholder with Trenam Kemker. Baruch represents clients in the areas of commercial litigation, maritime law, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, and intellectual property.

Holland & Knight Announces Board Changes

Holland & Knight announced that it has named Allen Maines executive partner of the law firm's Atlanta office. Maines will oversee the day-to-day management of the 35-lawyer office, while continuing his litigation practice. He replaces Robert Highsmith, who was executive partner in Atlanta for five years. Highsmith will continue to focus his practice on litigation and public policy. Maines joined the company in early 2013 from Paul Hastings. He has extensive domestic and cross-border international experience in shareholder and consumer class action litigation, internal investigations, intellectual property matters, mass tort litigation, privacy issues, M&A litigation, and disputes between competitors.
