The two companies said they will also introduce new accountable care products in 2016. The accountable care agreement is designed to improve overall quality, access to care, and the overall patient experience as well as help reduce medical costs. Hartford HealthCare Announces Job Cuts

The Hartford HealthCare system has announced plans to cuts 350 jobs at its hospitals and health centers across Connecticut. 230 of the cuts would be made through layoffs and the rest would come by leaving vacant positions unfilled. The cuts are necessary because national health care restructuring has resulted in fewer private patients and low reimbursement rates from the government. The cuts will affect workers across the system, including Hartford Hospital, the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, Backus Hospital in Norwich and Windham Hospital.
