The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Larry Schiff as assistant vice president in the San Antonio Branch. Schiff is responsible for supervising teams of large and regional bank and holding company examiners in central to southern Texas. Previously, Schiff was the executive vice president and head of credit risk management at East West Bank. He also previously served as a director in KPMG's national credit risk management advisory practice. Schiff served for 11 years as a senior supervisory financial analyst with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation, as liaison to both the Chicago and the New York Reserve Banks.

Robert Steven Kaplan will take over Sept. 8 as president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Kaplan has served at Harvard University since 2006, where he works as a professor of management practice and a senior associate dean with the college's business school. Before joining Harvard, Kaplan was vice chairman with the Goldman Sachs Group, working as the global head of the bank's investment banking and investment management divisions. Upon taking over at the Dallas Fed, he will continue to serve with Project A.L.S. and the DRK Foundation, as well as Harvard Medical School. He takes over for Richard Fisher, who retired from the Fed in March. Helen Holcomb, first vice president with the Fed, served as interim until Kaplan's hire.
