Kaiser Permanente Colorado Appoints Maureen McDonald as Senior Director

Kaiser Permanente Colorado announced that it has appointed Maureen McDonald as senior director of community benefit and relations. McDonald will lead the company’s community benefit activities, helping to fulfill the organization's mission of improving the health and vitality of Colorado communities. In this role, she will have responsibility for the company’s community benefit investments, including grantmaking to nonprofit organizations. McDonald previously served more than 12 years as executive director of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership foundation. She most recently served as director of development for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, securing resources to inspire curiosity and connect citizens to the natural world. She has served as a board member for the HCA-HealthONE Trustees, the Colorado Nonprofit Association, the Colorado Children's Chorale and the Colorado Women's Forum. In 2009, she was appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter to serve on the Commission on Community Service, was re-appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in 2011 and served through 2012.
Kaiser Permanente Announces Significant Expansion Plans In Southern Colorado

Kaiser Permanente Colorado announced plans to expand and greatly enhance services and health plan offerings in Southern Colorado. Over the next few years, Kaiser Permanente will begin offering several specialty services at its medical offices in Southern Colorado and open its Briargate Medical Offices to all ages, removing the current 55 and older age restriction. The health plan will also pursue plans to open new medical offices in Colorado Springs by 2015 and develop a new suite of health insurance plans that will offer expanded coverage options at various price levels. Kaiser Permanente's Southern Colorado expansion plans will begin with specialty care services being offered in Colorado Springs. Allergy care is now available and other specialties, including pediatric care, dermatology, rheumatology and adult medical genetics, will be phased in later this year. Additional specialties will be introduced within the next few years. These specialty services are available to Kaiser Permanente members of all ages living in Southern Colorado.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado Announces Opening of Lone Tree Multi-Specialty Center

Kaiser Permanente Colorado announced that will open the doors to a brand new specialty center in Lone Tree on December 2nd. This is the large construction project and the most significant addition to the health plan's brick and mortar presence in Colorado in nearly a decade. The company membership in the area south of Denver has grown substantially over the last nine years. In fact, since 2010, membership statewide has grown 10.5% to more than 540,000, including 128,000 members from the South Metro Denver area. To better serve members close to home, the health plan has expanded primary care services to the area with new medical offices in Parker in 2009 and Castle Rock in 2011. This new Lone Tree multi-specialty center represents the next phase of this south Denver expansion of services bringing specialty care to the community. In addition to Lone Tree, Kaiser Permanente Colorado has a specialty center in downtown Denver on Franklin Street and another in Lafayette, which opened in 2005.
