United Services Automobile Association to Layoff 105 Employees in Addison

United Services Automobile Association is laying off 105 employees and shutting down its real estate fulfillment operations in Addison. In a letter filed with the Texas Workforce Commission under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, USAA said the employees' last official day of work will be Nov. 6, but the affected workers will considered employees through Jan. 1, 2016. The layoffs are part of USAA's effort to consolidate its real estate fulfillment operations. Eligible employees have been offered relocation packages and the chance to transfer to USAA's Phoenix or Tampa locations. Those who do not relocate or who are ineligible for the relocation package will be offered a separation package, USAA said in the letter. After the layoffs, roughly 210 financial planning and advice and mortgage underwriting employees will remain at the Addison office at 15725 N. Dallas Parkway.

The United Services Automobile Association announced the retirement of Robert Hoyland as Vice President and General Manager of its Tampa operations in March 2015. Replacing Hoyland as USAA's Senior Executive in Tampa will be Yvette Segura. Segura, USAA's next Vice President and General Manager in Tampa, has led property claims operations, national catastrophe operations and international claims operations for USAA. She joined USAA in 1989 and has held a variety of management positions with the property and casualty group of companies across several locations, including Tampa, where she worked from January 2005 to November 2007.

The United Services Automobile Association, or USAA, Bank, has named Jamie Warder as its new president, effective January 26, 2015, reporting to EVP and COO, Carl Liebert, and will be a member of its executive council. During Warder's tenure at Capital One, he was responsible for the national bank's contact centers, operations, stores and physical distribution strategy. Prior to joining Capital One, Warder served as executive vice president of PNC Bank, where he held multiple roles leading consumer bank strategy, customer advocacy, mortgage servicing and multichannel distribution. Warder has also held significant roles at National City Bank and McKinsey & Company.
