King Soopers Appoints Dennis Gibson as President

Kroger Co., King Soopers' parent, announced Dennis Gibson will replace Russ Dispense, who is retiring after 51 years at the company. Gibson comes to Denver from Seattle, where he was the head of Kroger's QFC grocery store chain for the past two years. He is a veteran of 40 years in retail. Dispense announced last month he would step down as president. He held the position for 15 years.

The Kroger Co. announced that Russ Dispense, president of the company's King Soopers division, plans to retire on July 1, after 51 years with the company.

Union Representing Workers at Colorado Reaches Agreement on New Contract with Albertsons, King Soopers and Safeway

A union representing workers at Colorado's three larger grocery chains has reached agreement on a new contract with Albertsons, King Soopers and Safeway with ratification votes scheduled through December 10, 2015. Members of United Food and Commercial Workers union Local 7 started voting in the Denver area on a tentative agreement with King Soopers with a vote scheduled for members in the Colorado Springs area and December 4 for members in the Pueblo area. Union members in the Denver area are scheduled to vote on a tentative deal with Albertsons and Safeway with a vote scheduled for December 1 for members in the Springs area and voting continues through Dec. 10.
