Solvay's global business unit Novecare announced that it will team up with Eco Agro Resources to develop market and product portfolio opportunities in North and South America. The partnership is part of larger discussions aimed at leveraging the companies combined enhanced efficiency fertilizer products for agricultural distributors and customers. The partnership was announced at the start of The Fertilizer Institute's annual conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Solvay Novecare Inaugurates German Specialty Surfactant Plant, Expanding Capacities Close to Markets and Customers

Solvay Novecare inaugurated its specialty surfactants plant at the industrial park in Genthin, Germany, placing it in an excellent position to meet customer requirements in the fast-growing Central & Eastern European markets for Home & Personal, Agrochemicals and Oil & Gas markets. The expanded production capacities will enable Solvay to meet the growing demand for amphoteric surfactants from local customers and enhance its service level. The plant will create some 30 new jobs. The new plant will produce specialty surfactants that aid in the delivery of functional performance attributes such as cleansing, dispersal, moisturizing and texturizing qualities. The unit has already produced trial batches and with production set to start on the fourth quarter of 2014, Solvay is uniquely positioned to serve the dynamic Central and Eastern European market as well as its many customers around the world.
Fertoz Ltd. Announces Explore and Acquire of Dry Ridge Phosphate Project in Idaho from Solvay USA Inc

Fertoz Ltd. has acquired an option from Sulfate Resources LLC to explore and acquire up to 100pc of the Dry Ridge Phosphate Project in Idaho from Solvay USA Inc. Fertoz has the right to explore the property until August 30, 2016 and can exercise its option to acquire the project by paying Solvay USA Inc. up to USD 600,000 for an 80pc interest in the project. The purchase price was agreed with Solvay on the basis that there are 12 million tons at a minimum grade of 24pc P2O5 in the project. Upon Fertoz exercising its right to acquire the project, it will own 80pc of the project and Sulfate will own 20pc. Fertoz can acquire the remaining 20pc by paying USD 200,000 to Sulfate by December 9, 2016.
