Villanova University Appoints Patrick G. Maggitti as First Provost

Villanova University President, the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, announced the appointment of Patrick G. Maggitti, PhD, as the University’s first Provost, effective August 1. This key appointment is the result of a national search led by a committee of Villanova faculty, trustees, students and administrators. As Provost, Maggitti will be the Chief Academic Officer and the second ranking officer of the University, serving as leader of the institution in the absence of the President. He currently serves as the Helen and William O Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business.
Villanova University Announces New Leadership Appointments

Villanova University has announced a series of new leadership appointments at the University. These appointments include Kenneth G. Valosky, as Executive Vice President; Michael J. O'Neill, as Senior Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations; Neil J. Horgan, as Vice President for Finance; and, Robert H. Morro, asVice President for Facilities Management. Kenneth G. Valoskyhas been promoted to Executive Vice President from his previous position as the University’s Vice President for Administration and Finance. As Executive Vice President, Valosky is responsible for Financial Affairs, Auxiliary Services, Human Resources, Facilities Management, Public Safety, Athletics, Information Technologies, Government Relations and External Affairs. Michael J. O'Neill has been promoted to Senior Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations. He arrived at Villanova in 2008 as Vice President for University Advancement, following five years as Associate Vice President for Development and University Relations at Fordham University. He is responsible for the oversight of fundraising for Villanova’s colleges and schools, athletics and major programmatic and physical plant initiatives, as well as the operation of its five regional advancement offices, President's Advisory Council and the various campaign, executive and alumni leadership groups. Neil J. Horganhas been promoted to Vice President for Finance, following eight years as Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller. He is responsible for overseeing the University’s budget, financial planning and reporting, and the management of financial operations. Horgan came to Villanova in 2000 as the University’s Controller, after spending the previous nine years at University of Pennsylvania Health System, leaving as Assistant Director of Financial Operations for the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania. Robert H. Morrohas been promoted to Vice President for Facilities Management after having served as Associate Vice President for Facilities Management. He is responsible for facility planning, design and construction; maintenance of buildings and grounds; custodial services; and environmental safety and health. Morro arrived at Villanova in 2002, following 20 years in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps.
Villanova University Announces Board Changes

Villanova University announced that its Board of Trustees has elected Paul A. Tufano, Esq., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of companies, as its chairperson. Tufano succeeds Catherine M. Keating, who served as chair of the Board of Trustees since 2013. The University also announced the election of Joseph V. Topper, Jr. (CEO and President, CrossAmerica Partners LLP) as Vice chair of the Board of Trustees, and the Rev. Joseph L. Narog, OSA (Pastor, St. Thomas of Villanova Parish), as Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Five new members were elected to Villanova’s Board of Trustees and joined the 34-member Board, effective Jan. 1. These members include the Rev. Francis J. Doyle, OSA (Prior, Bellesini Friary); Tom Klein (President and CEO, Sabre Corporation); Nnenna J. Lynch (Director of Development, The Georgetown Company); Thomas M. Quindlen (Executive Vice President and CEO, Synchrony Financial); and, the Rev. James Halstead, OSA (Professor of Religious Studies, DePaul University). Additionally, the Rev. Francis J. Horn, OSA, JCD, joined the University’s Board in October, replacing the Rev. Shawn Tracy, OSA, who passed away in July 2014. Paul A. Tufano, Esq., is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, one of the nation’s leading Medicaid Managed Care organizations, headquartered in Philadelphia. Joseph V. Topper, Jr., is President and Chief Executive Officer of CrossAmerica, the general partner of CrossAmerica Partners LP, formerly Lehigh Gas Partners LP. The Rev. Joseph L. Narog, OSA, is Pastor of St. Thomas of Villanova Parish. Prior to that, he was School Minister at Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, Pa., followed by Parochial Vicar/Associate Pastor at St. Augustine Parish in Andover, Mass. The Reverend Francis J. Doyle, OSA, is the Prior of Bellesini Friary in Ardmore, Pa., where he is a member of the Provincial Council. The Rev. James Halstead, OSA, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University in Chicago. The Reverend Francis J. Horn, OSA, JCD, is Treasurer of the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova. Tom Klein is President, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Sabre Corporation. Nnenna J. Lynch is Director of Development at The Georgetown Company, LLC. Thomas M. Quindlen is Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Retail Card, Synchrony Financial.
