Birmingham-Southern College Announces Executive Changes

Birmingham-Southern College has hired Edward F. Leonard III as its new president. Leonard comes to BSC from his role as president of Bethany College in Kansas, a position he has held since 2007. He will be the 14th president in Birmingham-Southern's history. Prior to Bethany, Leonard worked at Wilmington College, William Jewell College and Georgia College. Leonard succeeds Gen. Charles Krulak, who announced his retirement last December.

Birmingham-Southern College Announces Executive Changes

Birmingham-Southern College appointed Dr. Michelle Behr of the University of North Colorado as the provost and vice president of academic affairs. Behr is currently the acting dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at UNC. Behr will replace Dr. Mark Schantz, who plans to return to the classroom to teach history following a sabbatical during the upcoming academic year. Behr will begin her duties on July 7, 2014.
