IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX) and chinese investors are seeking $276 million in a Hong Kong IPO of IMAX China Holding, Inc.

IMAX China Reportedly Seeks IPO

IMAX China Holding, Inc. is planning to raise around $300 million in a Hong Kong initial public offering (IPO) as early as the third quarter, people familiar with the deal said, part of its plans to raise funding to expand in one of the world’s fastest-growing movie markets. IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX) already listed on the New York Stock Exchange, applied to the Hong Kong stock exchange for a listing of IMAX China Holding Inc. late last month. It has hired Morgan Stanley as its sole sponsor, or the lead banker in charge of handling the prospectus and the listing process. It disclosed the listing plans but didn’t say when or how much it would raise in the Hong Kong filing in late May.
