UPS In Talks To Buy Coyote Logistics

United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) is in talks to buy Chicago-based Coyote Logistics, LLC backed by private-equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC for approximately $1.8 billion, a source familiar with negotiations said on July 22, 2015. Representatives of UPS and Warburg Pincus declined to comment, while Coyote Logistics could not immediately be reached for comment.

Coyote Logistics Mulls IPO

Coyote Logistics, LLC is considering IPO. “Coyote Logistics LLC is preparing for an initial public offering that could value it at more than $2 billion, including debt,” according to people familiar with the matter. “The Chicago-based company, which is backed by private-equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC, has met with banks as it plots the IPO, which is expected to come in the second half of the year,” the people said. “The deal is expected to raise a few hundred million dollars,” they added.
