MARTIN’S Food Markets Opens Sixth Richmond Area Fuel Station for Business

MARTIN’S Food Markets announced its sixth Richmond area fuel station will open for business on July 16, 2014. The new fuel station is located within the MARTIN’S store parking lot at 253 North Washington Highway in Ashland. For every $100 spent on grocery and pharmacy out-of-pocket expenses at any MARTIN’S using a BonusCard, customers will receive ten cents off per gallon of gas when they fill up as part of the fuelperks! program. The new fuel station will have eight pumps, each with a Pay-at-the-Pump feature. Diesel fuel will also be available. Gas mitts to keep hands clean and free air are also available. In addition, MARTIN’S gift cards can be purchased and redeemed at fuel sites, including the new Ashland fuel station.
Lovin' Scoopful Adds 400 Stores to East Coast Distribution

Lovin' Scoopful to benefit Special Olympics and other nonprofits that help empower the human spirit, has increased its distribution of Lovin' Scoopful Gourmet Light Ice Cream to more than 400 stores throughout the eastern United States to include all Ahold USA stores, including Stop & Shop, Giant Food, Martin's Food Market, Giant Food Stores and Peapod Stores. New flavors to the east coast include: What the Fudge, Lovin's exotically rich Out of This World Chocolate smothered with thick fudge; and Moose Tracks, a combination of peanut butter cups and fudge slathered in vanilla ice cream. In addition, Lovin' Scoopful changed its packaging to a 'sqround' tub, allowing it to fit into additional store shelving models. The new sqround packaging will roll out nationwide in 2015. Made with an all-natural base, Lovin' Scoopful Gourmet Light Ice Cream contains half the fat of premium ice cream brands, providing a healthier alternative while maintaining a super-premium taste. Lovin' Scoopful Gourmet Light Ice Cream retails for $3.75 to $4.99 and is available at select grocery stores around the country.
Giant-Carlisle Names Tom Lenkevich as its New President, Succeeding Bhavdeep Singh

Ahold’s Giant-Carlisle division named Tom Lenkevich as its new president, succeeding Bhavdeep Singh, who served as interim president following Rick Herring’s retirement. Lenkevich, who most recently served as chief operating officer and senior vice president of retail operations for Supervalu’s Save-A-Lot division, will manage all aspects of the division, with responsibility for Giant and Martin’s sales, operating profits, organization and people. He will report to Singh, who serves as executive vice president, operations for Giant’s parent, Ahold USA.
