Temple University's president announced a new athletic director to replace Kevin Clark, the man who headed up the department when the North Philly school axed seven of its 24 varsity sports teams. Patrick Kraft, the current deputy director of athletics, is taking over for Clark, who is moving to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer after leading the athletics department for two years. In his new role as executive vice president and COO, Clark will be responsible for the university's daily operations, which means four divisions intercollegiate athletics; construction, facilities and operations; a campus recreation; and business services would report to him. Temple trustees must approve Clark's appointment.
