Ohio University Vice President for Finance and Administration Stephen Golding will begin a new role as senior vice president for strategic initiatives, a position created to facilitate the design and implementation of the OHIO for Ohio initiative in collaboration with the Office of the President and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. He will begin this new role April 1, 2016. As part of a previously established succession plan, Senior Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration Deborah Shaffer will assume the role of Vice President for Finance and Administration on April 1, 2016. In this role, Shaffer reports to the President. In addition to her new role as vice president for finance and administration, Shaffer also will become treasurer of the Board of Trustees and treasurer of the Ohio University Foundation effective July 1, 2016. Shaffer joined OHIO in 2013 and since then has overseen several major University initiatives including the implementation of the Century Bond initiative, Service Alignment Initiative, and implementation of a multi-year budget planning strategy.

Mohamed Ali, auxiliaries operations director at Ohio University, Athens, has been named ISU Dining director effective January 11, 2015. Ali has worked 24 years in the food industry. His experience includes senior leadership positions in 17 retail dining locations and four regional dining facilities, as well as catering, vending and surplus operations. Ali will oversee operations of Iowa State's campus dining system, which includes four dining centers, 17 retail operations, catering, vending operations, central food stores and technical support systems and services. Hill has served as the interim director of ISU Dining since Jan. 2, 2015, when former director Nancy Keller announced her retirement.

Ohio University is seeking to sell the university courtyard. Stephen Golding, Ohio University Vice President for finance and administration, said that the discussion to sell the 22 acre University Courtyard has been an ongoing on for the last 18 to 24 months.
