Cyprus Denies Rumours Of Selling Off Cyta Hellas

Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta) has denied reports that it is looking to sell off its Greek division Cyta Hellas Telecommunications S.A. A press release stated, "Cyta Hellas adds strength to the overall value of Cyta group and is an investment with strategic features in the Greek telecommunications market. "It went on to add that 'there is no suggestion of interest in Cyta Hellas and no procedure has been carried out". The group says it is already working on a new five-year business plan for Cyta Hellas and is preparing to launch a number of new services, though it did not give further details. As reported by CommsUpdate last month, rumours had circulated saying that Cyta was looking to offload its Greek unit, with WIND Hellas Telecommunications S.A. linked as a potential buyer.

Wind Hellas Launches Samsung Galaxy S7

Wind Hellas announced the start of sales of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones. They are available with 32 GB storage, in a choice of black, gold or white. The S7 Edge sells for EUR 829 without a contract and the S7 costs EUR 729.

Wind Hellas to Start Samsung Galaxy S6 Pre-Sales

Wind Hellas announced the start of pre-sales 20 March for the Samsung phones. Official sales will start 17 April. The operator will offer the phones in a choice of white, black, gold or blue, at reduced prices with service contracts.
