OVH SAS Key Developments

OVH Launches First UK Data Centre in London

OVH officially opens the doors of its first UK data centre as part of its ambitious EUR 1.5 billion global expansion plan. After Australia, Singapore, Poland and more recently Germany, this is the fifth data centre OVH opens in less than a year. The opening of the new data centre will cement OVH's stronghold in Europe and help it continue to build its global presence. Following a capital increase of EUR 250 million from two investment funds by KKR and TowerBrook in 2016, OVH announced a EUR 1.5 billion investment plan for the next five years, with the UK playing a key part in that. It currently has more than one million customers around the world, 22 data centres across four continents, with a bandwidth capacity of 11 Tbps. The new facility in South-East London provides greater speed, reliability and security for its growing customer base, and the company's move demonstrates its commitment to the UK market in spite of Brexit.

OVH Plans to Open its First Data Centres in the UK

OVH has announced plans to open its first data centres in the UK, starting with a facility which will be operational by the end of May, located in the inner suburbs of London. This first data centre will have a capacity of 40,000 servers over 4,000 square metres. It will benefit from its very close proximity to OVH's point of presence (PoP) in London and its direct connection to several other OVH's data centres (initially those in Gravelines, Amsterdam, Montreal, and New York).

OVH Appoints Michel Calmejane as New Head of Global Sales

OVH has appointed Michel Calmejane as its new head of global sales. The appointment came a shortly after a management change at Colt France, where Marie-Claude Chazot was named CEO. Calmejane had held the post since 2008, having previously worked at Nortel and BT France.
