International Automotive Components (IAC) announced the opening of its first South American plant in Itatiaia, Brazil. The new 4,500 square-meter (48,437 square-foot) facility officially opened on June 15, 2016 and is expected to employ approximately 40 to 50 people when production reaches full capacity. It assembles and delivers highly crafted cockpits to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) do Brasil to support the production of the 2017 Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque premium sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Currently employing 17 dedicated team members, the greenfield plant follows the IAC Production System (IPS) for lean operations and is strategically located to support the customer's growth plans in the region.

International Automotive Components (IAC) has promoted Kelli Carney to President of Europe. In this role, Carney is responsible for overseeing all primary central business functions for the European region, including Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Quality and Procurement. She will also be responsible for global Procurement, a role that carries over from her previous position as Senior Vice President of Procurement and Information Technology. She will report to IAC's new Chief Operating Officer Brian Pour, and will relocate to the company's European regional headquarters in Dusseldorf, Germany. Carney brings 30 years of automotive industry experience and a strong background in operations management to the role. Prior to joining IAC in 2007, she served in several leadership roles at Lear Corp., including Vice President of DaimlerChrysler Platforms, Director of Pre-Production Planning for the Interior Systems Division, and Platform Director for General Motors Midsize Vehicles and Purchasing Commodity Manager.
