May 2 16
issuu announced the launch of ‘Collaborate,’ which enables editors to streamline the publishing process. Accessed as part of the Optimum subscription plan on the issuu platform, Collaborate is the easiest way for independent media teams to work together and plan publications anytime, anywhere. Collaborate features include; Flatplan: create layout, see an instant overview of publication and move pages around easily; collaborate on content: add contributors who can add content, upload files and edit as permitted so to have the most up to date assets in one place and in the context of the article; InDesign integration: pull content from the flatplan into corresponding pages in Adobe InDesign and push the finished layout back to the team for feedback; review articles: track changes, compare versions, attach files and easily add contributors; proof layouts: preview, comment on and approve layouts; manage ads: track inventory, place ads on the flatplan and gather ad assets; notification and status tracking: track status to stay on deadline and always see the latest version of publication; and Tablet-ready: works on desktop and tablet.

issuu announced the addition of two key new hires to its executive team. Paul Kim has joined as vice president of marketing and John Sturino has come on as vice president of product management and operations. These appointments come as the company focuses on enriching its mobile experience by making it easy for more than 100 million monthly visitors to navigate and discover rich content from more than 2.5 million publishers. Prior to joining issuu, Paul Kim was executive vice president, digital marketing at WeWork, and has also served as vice president of marketing at top technology companies like Klout, Automattic, and Mozilla. Paul’s focus will be leveraging issuu’s expansive cross-device platform to lead consumer and publisher growth strategy, and raising awareness and visibility of the company overall. John Sturino, formerly executive vice president of products and partnerships at Equilar, is joining the issuu team to take charge of the product roadmap and expand issuu’s product offerings. He will also be working on expanding the monetization opportunities for issuu and its publishers.
