Entergy Texas Files Motion with Public Utility Commission of Texas to End Bid to Purchase Union Power Station Unit

Entergy Texas, Inc. announced that together with other parties, the company filed a motion with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) to dismiss the company's application requesting a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity for one of the four 495 MW generating units at the Union Power Station near El Dorado, Arkansas. If the PUCT grants the parties' motion to dismiss, Entergy Texas' quest to purchase the unit would end and the unit will be acquired by Entergy New Orleans, Inc. at an unadjusted purchase price of $237.0 million, subject to the approval of the New Orleans City Council and the satisfaction of other conditions to close the transaction. The Union Power Station is a 1,980-megawatt (summer rated) generating facility that entered commercial service in 2003 and consists of four highly efficient combined-cycle natural gas-fired generating units.
Entergy Texas, Inc. Commences Work on 38-Mile Power Line in Tamina Community

Entergy Texas, Inc. has announced that contract crews are set to begin work on removing vegetation and trim trees near a 38-mile power line that originates in the heart of The Woodlands, to help keep the lights on for the 3,516 customers it serves in the Tamina Community portion of The Woodlands. The power line originates from the Oak Ridge Substation off Main Street and includes an area north of the substation and east on State Highway 242 from Interstate 45 to Needham Road.
Entergy Texas, Inc Unveils New Service Reliability Project in Winnie Area

Entergy Texas, Inc. has announced a new service reliability project in Winnie area. The number of projects to clear vegetation away from power lines and help ensure reliable electric service in the Winnie area is growing, with yet another added to the list. Contract crews working for Entergy Texas, Inc. have already either completed or are working on power lines served by the Bayshore Substation off Highway 563. Now, however, they are scheduled to begin work the week of March 8 on an 85 mile-long power line that originates from the Hankamer Substation on the Interstate 10 service road just west of Indian Trails subdivision. The power line serves 709 customers east and north of the substation along Highway 61 and also east on FM 1663 and FM 1410. The project is expected to take 10 weeks to complete, depending on the weather. As always, customers are urged to be aware and take caution while driving because personnel will be working along and near roadways.
