Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) as the new holding company of Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (P1), together with its partners, Green Packet Bhd and SK Telecom Co Ltd, announced the new P1 board members and key management line-up.TM Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa will serve as the Chairman of P1. Zamzamzairani will be joined on the Board management team by TM's Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Farid Mohamed Sani; TM's Executive Vice President, Consumer, Imri Mokhtar; and TM's Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Giorgio Migliarina. Others include Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer of SK Telecom, Park Jung Ho; CEO of Green Packet, Tan Kay Yen; and CEO and Managing Director of P1, Puan Chan Cheong. On the management line-up, Puan is joined by TM's Executive Vice President of SME, Azizi A Hadi, who will oversee P1's overall operations as Chief Operating Officer. Nora Junita Mohd Hussaini will head finance and corporate services as Chief Financial and Corporate Affairs Officer. Meanwhile, Vice President, Global Tech Division, SK Telecom, Shim Sang Soo has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer while Ti Lian Seng will oversee P1's IT services as Chief Information Officer. Selina Chean will head human resources as Chief Human Capital Officer while Kelvin Lee and Tony Ha Min Yong join the line-up as Chief Sales and Service Officer and Chief Business Development Officer, respectively. Michael Parker, TM's Vice President of Centralised Organisation Programme Management, Group Strategy, will lead P1's Programme Management Office for LTE (long-term evolution) Business as its Programme Director. The new P1 Board and rigorously selected management line-up of capable executives from TM, Green Packet, SK Telecom and P1 form a strong organisation that is expected to fully capitalise on partnership synergies and execute P1Ã¢â â ¢s future business strategies and entry into the mobile LTE space. The collaboration will enable TM to deliver the next generation of converged communication services and accelerate the roll-out of LTE services via access to suitable spectrum assets, leveraging both SK Telecoms expertise and P1’s existing customer base and the strong base of LTE upgradeable WiMAX sites.
Telekom Malaysia Reportedly To Invest In Packet One

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (KLSE:TM) is reportedly taking controlling stake in Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd by injecting fresh capital of more than MRY 1 billion. A source familiar with the deal told The Edge Financial Daily on March 26, 2014 that, "The deal will allow TM to get a foothold in mobile broadband service, mobility is a missing part of its business portfolio as mobile data service is the trend moving forward, judging by the gadgets that we are using". The source added, "The existing shareholders of Packet One will receive some cash from the deal. However, their shareholding will be diluted".
Telekom Malaysia In Talks To Make Acquisitions

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (KLSE:TM) is seeking acquisitions yo increase the mobility in its portfolio. Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Chief Executive Officer of Telekom Malaysia, said, "Mobility is important and we will talk to anybody who can provide [this] to complete [our] portfolio of services." Zamzamzairani revealed that TM was not in talks with just one company. "We talk to everyone to see who else can help us fill up the gaps when we need mobility to complete our suite of services," he said. However, in response to questions on whether the telco was in talks with Green Packet Berhad (KLSE:GPACKET) on the possible acquisition of Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. he declined to comment on the accuracy of the speculation, saying that TM had already given a statement on the matter. "We don't comment on speculation," he said.
