Duke University Key Developments

Roivant Ultra Enters Licensing Agreement with Duke University

Roivant Ultra Orphan Ltd., has entered into an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Duke University, to develop RVT-802, a tissue-based therapy for the treatment of DiGeorge Syndrome (cDGS), a congenital immunodeficiency disease. Under the terms of the agreement, data from Duke's experience will be used to support submission of a Biologics License Application (BLA) with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval.

Sermonix Pharmaceuticals Signs Licensing Agreement with Duke University

Sermonix Pharmaceuticals, LLC signed a licensing agreement with Duke University, through which Sermonix will gain rights to Duke's intellectual property related to the use of lasofoxifene, Sermonix's investigational drug, in the treatment of endocrine-resistant breast cancer. Both the companies are based in the US. Under the terms of the transaction, Duke will receive an upfront payment from Sermonix, as well as future equity and milestone payments.

Duke University Announces Executive Changes

Duke University has elected Vincent Price, provost of the University of Pennsylvania, as its president. Price, 59, will succeed Richard H. Brodhead in the position on July 1, 2017. Brodhead - who has served as president of the university since 2004 - announced in April that he would be stepping down.
