Mattress Firm Intesrested In Acquiring Sleepy's
Jun 26 15
Mattress Firm Holding Corp. (NasdaqGS:MFRM) is interested in acquiring Sleepy's, LLC. Chief Executive Officer Steve Stagner said, "We happen to have very little overlap with Sleepy's. There's no secret in the industry that we have a lot of respect for Sleepy's and it would be opportunistic for both organizations to merge. But there are a lot of cooks in the kitchen with private equity and things like that, and all those stars need to align to make the deal happen. We're highly interested in the Northeast, and if we can get there via a merger with Sleepy's, that would be great. If not, we're comfortable going in through organic growth."
Sleepy's, LLC Launches New Web and Mobile Commerce Sites on Demandware, Inc. Platform
Apr 11 14
Demandware Inc. has announced that Sleepy's LLC has launched new web and mobile commerce sites on the Demandware platform. Sleepy's switched from an on-premise platform to Demandware's cloud solution as part of a strategic move to advance its omni-channel initiatives and provide consumers with consistent experiences across all channels, including web, mobile and the physical store. Sleepy's abandoned its legacy on-premise platform because the cost of ownership had become a barrier to innovation. The retailer needed to continually upgrade hardware to keep up with its growth; software upgrades were laborious and cost-prohibitive; and in-house control was lacking. Sleepy's turned to Demandware's cloud solution because it provides a better model to support the company's growth strategy and enables the speed, agility and innovation necessary to keep pace with continually evolving consumer demands. With Demandware, Sleepy's now has a flexible and scalable platform to support its holiday intensive business, without the burden and cost of infrastructure management. Demandware delivers a steady stream of new features through seamless upgrades without disrupting day-to-day operations, and empowers merchants and marketers with complete control over the user experience and site functionality.
