SHEEX Files Patent Infringement Lawsuits against Cocona and E&E

SHEEX(R) Inc. announced it has filed patent infringement lawsuits seeking relief against Cocona Inc., and E&E Co. Ltd. The two lawsuits were filed on November 12, 2014, in the U.S. Federal District Court in Wilmington, Delaware. SHEEX alleges that Cocona's "Sleep 37.5 Sheets" and "Sleep Number Comfort Dry Sheets" and E&E's "Protech Performance" and "Protech Plus" infringe two SHEEX patents: U.S. Patent No. 8,402,580 ("the '580 patent"), issued on March 26, 2013, entitled "Fabric System," and U.S. Patent No. 8,566,982 ("the '982 patent"), issued on October 28, 2013, also entitled "Fabric System." The inventions in these patents solved the technological challenges SHEEX faced by designing bed sheets made of high performance knit fabric. SHEEX uses its patented inventions in SHEEX performance sleep products. All three lawsuits allege these companies are willfully infringing, disregarding and not respecting intellectual property rights of SHEEX.

Cocona Partners with Design Weave to Launch Sleep 37.5 Bedding System

Cocona has partnered with Design Weave to launch the Sleep 37.5 Bedding System, designed to provide deeper sleep. The system uses the same high performance technology used in active apparel and makes them available in the home furnishings industry, officials said. Products in the system include a mattress pad, pillows, a sheet set, a comforter, a blanket and a duvet cover. Sleep 37.5 Bedding captures and releases moisture vapor, continuously adjusting to help a body maintain the optimum comfort zone. Comparable to its use in high performance clothing, benefits of 37.5 technology in bedding include breathability, moisture management, next-to-skin comfort and microclimate regulation. They also said that 37.5 bedding dries faster than traditional bedding when laundered, reducing energy costs by up to than 20%. 37.5 technology is permanent and will never wash out, and does not retain odors; in fact, the technology is refreshed every time it’s laundered.
