Eni SpA and Sonatrach to Start Algerian Renewable Alliance with 10 Mw of PV

Eni SpA announced that it has partnered with government-owned sector company Sonatrach to develop renewable energy projects in Algeria, starting with a 10-MW solar park. The initial solar photovoltaic (PV) power facility will be built in the Bir Rebaa North (BRN) oil field. The pair expects to complete the plant by the end of 2016.

Eni Signs Concession Contract with Montenegro for Offshore Oil, Gas Exploration

Eni announced that it signed a concession contract with Montenegro for the exploration of four blocks of oil and gas offshore in partnership with Russian peer Novatek. The blocks, covering a total area of 1,228 square kilometers, have been awarded to the Italian-Russian consortium following an international tender. Each of the partners has 50% interest in the exploration licences. The entry into Montenegro's upstream is part of Eni's strategy aimed at strengthening the company's exploration portfolio in an area where Eni has been a leader in exploration and production activities since the early '60.
