Mauritius is looking to sell a 23% stake in British American Investments Company (Kenya) Limited (NASE:BRIT.O), seized from a disgraced tycoon, a senior government official said on September 3, 2015. In an address to parliament this week, Finance Minister Seetanah Lutchmeenaraidoo said the government hoped to secure a single buyer for the whole lot. The Mauritius government said it wants to sell the tycoon's assets to compensate investors who lost cash in the alleged Ponzi scheme.

Britam's Chief Executive, Benson Wairegi, said earlier on June 26, 2015, that the company had not been approached by the receiver over the sale of the shares.
