Seward & Kissel LLP Appoints Ivy Wafford Duke as Counsel in Investment Management Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Office

Seward & Kissel LLP announced that Ivy Wafford Duke has joined the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office as Counsel in the Investment Management Practice Group. Ms. Duke has more than two decades of in-house experience in the investment management sector. Most recently, she served as Vice President and Acting General Counsel for Calvert Investments Inc. In that role, Ms. Duke was responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory matters affecting the affiliated SEC registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, and the Calvert mutual funds. In addition to her work on 1940 Act matters, Ms. Duke has broad experience with all registered investment adviser and broker-dealer legal and regulatory matters. This includes SEC compliance, as well as MSRB, FINRA, Blue Sky state filings, and SRO regulations.

Seward & Kissel LLP Appoints Marlon Q. Paz as Partner

Seward & Kissel LLP announced that Marlon Q. Paz has joined the Firm as a partner and will focus on broker-dealer regulation and enforcement. Mr. Paz currently serves as the Chair of the Trading and Markets subcommittee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, and is a member of the adjunct faculty of Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches a course on the U.S. regulation of financial institutions and the securities markets and a course on international business litigation and federal practice.
