Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Announces Board Changes

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has named four new members to its board of trustees. They are attorney Antonia Hernández,educator Catharine O'Neill Broderick, nonprofit executive Jo Ann Jenkins and technology strategist Mark A. Coblitz. Hernández is president and CEO of the California Community Foundation. Broderick is former director of Grosse Point Academy and a former trustee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Jenkins is CEO of AARP, the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization and former chief operating officer of the Library of Congress. Coblitz is a retired senior vice president of strategic planning for Comcast Corp. and is a director and founding partner of social media education company Venly. Hernández and Broderick, who attended their first meeting in November, occupy seats previously held by Barbara B. Oberg and retired Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV. Coblitz and Jenkins, elected at November's meeting, occupy seats previously held by senior trustees Edmond D. Villani and Andrea Mitchell. Thomas F. Farrell II, the chairman, president and CEO of Dominion Resources, is chairman of the Colonial Williamsburg board of trustees.
The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Announces Management Changes

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has appointed Mitchell B. Reiss as president and CEO, effective October 6, 2014. Reiss will succeed Colin G. Campbell, who has held the position for fourteen years. Reiss joins The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation from Washington College, where he serves as president. Previously, Reiss held positions at the College of William & Mary, where he increased funding to support academic positions, expanded international programs and exchanges, and taught in the School of Law. Reiss will focus on advancing Colonial Williamsburg as a leading center for history and citizenship with innovative, interactive experiences for the living history museum's visitors.
