Teltronic Completes Integration of its Tetra Solution with Siemens European Train Control System
Nov 21 16
Teltronic, part of the Sepura Group, has successfully completed integration of its TETRA solution with Siemens' European Train Control System (ETCS Level 2) application, officially certifying the viability of TETRA for railway signalling solutions. Extensive tests performed at Siemens facilities in Berlin showed that TETRA met all QoS parameters outlined in the EIRENE specifications (Subset 093), relating to railway communications. The integrated solution - which utilises Sepura's NEBULA infrastructure and EN50155 onboard equipment - will provide a cost-effective alternative for operators utilising long-distance communications networks to control ETCS-enabled trains.
Alstom Selects Teltronic to Supply Voice Communications to Guadalajara Metro L3
Jun 21 16
Alstom has selected Teltronic to supply a complete voice communication system for Line 3 of the Guadalajara Metro that is currently under construction. The 21.4km line will cross the full length of the city and will link 18 stations with a combination of underground and elevated running. The Teltronic solution will consist of Nebula TETRA infrastructure, a CeCoCo control centre, 18 RTP-603 on-board units, 18 SRG3900 mobile radios and 100 STP9000 hand-portables and will provide communications between all staff on Line 3, including drivers, maintenance and security staff, inspectors and the control centre.
Teltronic to Provide Radio Communications Solution for Qatar's Tram System
Dec 1 15
Teltronic has signed an agreement to provide a radio communications solution for Qatar's first tram system, part of the country's Education City project. Located on the outskirts of the capital, Doha, Education City is an initiative by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and aims to become the main education hub in the region. The multi-line tram network is an important element of the car-free 'smart city' and is designed to host environmentally friendly vehicles that require no overhead contact lines. It covers 11.5km and hosts 24 passenger stations. Siemens has selected Teltronic to design and supply a tailor-made TETRA communications system for integration with a number of on-board subsystems. The solution features hand-portable radios and on-board terminals, supporting train-to-ground communications as well as communication with the control centre and all on-board sub-systems. The system also enables the operator to deliver live announcements to passengers using the on-board public address system. All voice communication that takes place during radio operation is recorded, offering the ability to replay and analyse conversations between the vehicle and at the control centre. The project required additional input to adapt the on-board equipment to the available space and existing installations within the cars.
