Department of Investment and Public Asset Management Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. co-ordinates government disinvestment programme has selected four investment banks for the proposed share sale in Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. These four banks include Nomura Holdings, Inc. (TSE:8604), SBI Caps Ventures Ltd., ICICI Securities Inc. and IDBI Capital Market Services Ltd. After qualifying on technical basis, DIPAM has selected Nomura that has quoted the lowest financial bids of a little over INR 50 million and others were asked to match the fee, said one of the top official of a leading investment bank that has participated in the process. The government is planning to sell 10% stake in HUDCO, through an initial public offer (IPO). The proposed move aimed at raising about INR 15 billion on a total valuation of INR 150 billion said the banker. "The government is starting with a mandatory 10% sale that will increased to 25% in the next three through offer for sale route," said the banker.

According to Deal Street View, Eight companies have submitted their bids for buying 10% stake in Coal India Limited (NSEI:COALINDIA). The companies are HSBC Holdings plc (LSE:HSBA), Elara Capital (India) Private Limited, SBI Capital, ICICI Securities Inc. JM Financial Limited (BSE:523405), Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited and AXIS Capital Holdings Limited (NYSE:AXS), IFR reported, citing a person close to the deal. The Department of Disinvestment, which oversees stake sales in state firms and all eight banks did not immediately respond to Reuters request for comment.
