Sorenson Media announced that Albert Mombarg joined the company as EVP, General Manager Europe to lead the company’s expansion into the European market. Based in Amsterdam, Mombarg will be responsible for managing the introduction and roll out of Sorenson‘s Smart Broadcast solutions portfolio throughout Europe. Mombarg’s appointment heralds the start of an exciting new growth phase for Sorenson Media and builds on the company’s existing product development office in Cardiff, Wales. Mombarg will bring more than 15 years of experience in interactive television, multimedia and mobile solutions in Europe where he has made substantial contributions and led notable initiatives relating to the introduction of Smart TVs and related applications. Mombarg joins Sorenson from TP Vision, owned by global TV giant TPV, which concentrates on developing, manufacturing and marketing Philips branded TV sets in Europe in addition to select countries in Asia and South America, where he served as Global Head of Smart TV for nearly three years. In this role, he managed TP Vision’s consumer portfolio including premium Smart TV Apps, multi-screen content sharing, intuitive user interaction and business tools for monetization. Prior to joining TP Vision, Mombarg served as the Senior Director of Smart TV at Phillips where he led business development for Global, European and Latin American content and service providers.

Sorenson Media announced that Matt Timothy has joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer. Based in New York, NY, Timothy will be responsible for all customer facing aspects of the company’s business including business development, sales and marketing. Timothy’s expertise includes over 18 years of experience in the TV and advertising industry, including positions at CBS, National Cable Communications (NCC), BBE and most recently, video advertising solution provider Vindico. Timothy joins Sorenson from Vindico Group, where he served as President for the last six years.
