Microchip Technology Inc. through its Silicon Storage Technology announced qualification and availability of SST's low-mask-count embedded SuperFlash® non-volatile memory (NVM) on GLOBALFOUNDRIES' 130 nm BCDLite® technology platform. SST's embedded SuperFlash memory solution requires the addition of only four masking steps to GLOBALFOUNDRIES's BCDLite technology that provides power, microcontroller (MCU) and industrial IC designers with a cost-effective, high-endurance embedded Flash solution. In high-volume power applications such as battery charging (5V-30V), the GLOBALFOUNDRIES 130 nm BCDLite platform paired with the SST SuperFlash embedded memory capability enables advanced battery monitoring that accurately gauges the age and health of the battery. Being the first foundry to combine SST's embedded SuperFlash memory with advanced analog, the GLOBALFOUNDRIES 130 nm BCDLite platform features an Rdson, which enables designers to achieve single-chip, programmable, power solutions with small die sizes. GLOBALFOUNDRIES' 130 nm BCDLite platform, combined with SST's SuperFlash technology, is available now and comes fully supported with an extensive custom library of off-the-shelf IP blocks optimized for analog/power SOCs.

Silicon Storage Technology announced the availability of Smartbit based antifuse one-time-programmable, or OTP, non-volatile memory, or NVM, technology on the Altis Semiconductor's 130nm and 180nm RF CMOS platforms. A long-established innovative specialty foundry, Altis Semiconductor's cost-effective and proven RF CMOS platform is qualified to automotive standards. SST's Smartbit OTP technology together with Altis RF CMOS process is ideal for wide temperature ranges and data retention in medical and implantable devices, automotive market applications, mobile and wireless applications and the general Internet of Things market.
Silicon Storage Technology and Globalfoundries Announce Qualification of Automotive Grade 55NM Embedded Flash Memory Technology

Microchip Technology Inc., through its Silicon Storage Technology subsidiary, and GLOBALFOUNDRIES announced the full qualification and availability of SST's 55nm embedded SuperFlash® non-volatile memory (NVM) on GLOBALFOUNDRIES' 55nm Low Power Extended (LPx)/RF enabled platform. The qualification of GLOBALFOUNDRIES' 55nm, split-gate-cell SuperFlash technology-based process was performed according to JEDEC standards. This process technology also met the requirements of AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification with an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and demonstrated endurance of 100K program/erase cycles with more than 20 years of data retention at 150°C.
