Quantum3D Announces Release of MANTIS Version 3.3
Jul 27 16
Quantum3D, Inc. announced the release of MANTIS version 3.3, a significant new upgrade to its award-winning Image Generation software. Along with several improvements in functionality, MANTIS 3.3 for the first time comes with a Free Use mode which allows anyone to experiment with MANTIS free of charge with no expiration date. MANTIS 3.3 introduces a number of new capabilities, including: Free Use mode: Allows use of MANTIS without a paid license for ease of evaluation, integration, testing, content development, and other non-production tasks. Also included is the ability to run most of the optional plug-ins MANTIS has to offer, which provide a wealth of advanced visualization capabilities. Increased number of spot lights and omni-directional lights, also with added support for these light types in ViXsen® sensor channels, and improved appearance of light points to enhance Level-D airport runway visualization. Improved performance and capability of DI-Guy animated character option. Advanced Weather plug-in GUI now supports setting of storm parameters. Native support for domeprojection.com ProjectionTools runtime software. And many more improvements.
Quantum3D, Inc. Demonstrates Newest Independence IDX 80 Image Generator
May 17 16
Quantum3D, Inc. announced that it is demonstrating a prototype of its newly-announced Independence® IDX 80 Image Generator (IG) this week in the project: syntropy /domeprojection.com stand at the ITEC 2016 exhibition held at ExCeL London. Although the IDX 80 is Quantum3D's most compact IG product, fitting within a single case the size of a deskside PC, it will be shown driving a large scale 6-projector (each at WQXGA 2560x1600 resolution) display dome with a real-time aircraft simulation demo. Remarkably, this level of performance was previously only possible with IG's comprising a much larger rack full of several PC servers. Quantum3D is also announcing the upcoming release of MANTIS® version 3.3, a significant new upgrade to its award-winning Image Generation software including several key features: Native support for domeprojection.com ProjectionTools runtime software; Increased number of spot lights and omni-directional lights, also with added support for these light types in sensor channels; Improved performance and capability of DI-Guy animated character option; Improved appearance of light points to support Level-D airport rendering; Added support for direct stimulation of NVG goggles. This new release of MANTIS will be available to customers in late May 2016, and will be included with the new IDX 80 system which will begin shipping in summer 2016. Employing a unique new compact all-in-one design, the IDX 80 is designed and optimized for simulation applications requiring anywhere from two to a maximum of eight separate display devices. Applications in this popular range include commercial airline pilot training simulators, maritime and ground vehicle simulators, as well as a wide variety of other vehicle training devices.
Quantum3D, Inc. Announces Independence IDX 80 Image Generator
Apr 19 16
Quantum3D, Inc. announced the newest addition to its successful Independence IDX Image Generator (IG) family: the IDX 80. Employing a unique new compact all-in-one design, the IDX 80 is designed and optimized for simulation applications requiring anywhere from two to a maximum of eight separate display devices. Applications in this popular range include commercial airline pilot training simulators, which typically require three primary projector displays and one or two ancillary displays. IG's in this performance space are typically large devices, built up with multiple PC server cabinets stacked in tall equipment racks weighing hundreds of pounds and consuming several kilowatts. In stark contrast, the IDX 80 comes uniquely packaged in a single chassis not much larger than a common deskside tower PC. By integrating all componentry within a single chassis, Quantum3D has been able to dramatically simplify and reduce the overall cost of the design, while at the same time reducing power consumption and improving reliability. While IDX 80 is small in terms of footprint and budget, it shares many key features with its larger sibling, the IDX 8000 model. Like the 8000, the IDX 80 is powered by Intel's latest 6-core Xeon CPUs and NVIDIA's top of the line Quadro M-series GPUs, and is backed by Quantum3D's 3-year warranty and guaranteed service life of 10 years or more. The IDX 80 includes MANTIS as well as the GeoScapeSE World-Wide Database. Based on modern GPU shader programming and along with its vast array of plug-ins for special effects, MANTIS is well suited to exploit the new levels of hardware power within the IDX 80. When configured with the Global Airports feature available in MANTIS, IDX 80 is ready to fly pilots to over 27,000 airfields around the globe. The IDX 80 is ideal for a variety of applications including commercial FAA/EASA Level-D flight training, ground vehicle training, maritime training, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) training to name just a few.
