CradlePoint, Inc. Key Developments

Cradlepoint Announces the Suite of LTE Advanced

Cradlepoint announced the suite of LTE Advanced (LTE-A) routing platforms for branch and in-vehicle networks. As carriers are introducing Category 6 LTE-A technology into their networks to increase bandwidth speeds and coverage, Cradlepoint is the first to empower businesses to leverage these capabilities with an enterprise-grade WAN solution. Cradlepoint has already set the standard for connecting enterprise networks with LTE to more easily and reliably complement, augment, and extend their existing primary networks. By integrating LTE-A capabilities into its solution portfolio, it is supporting even faster connections and better coverage so its customers can do more and wire less. Cradlepoint’s LTE-A modems will be embedded in Cradlepoint’s AER series of edge routing solutions, ARC series of failover and Out of Band Management solutions, and in the COR IBR1100 ruggedized mobile network solution. The new platforms, in concert with new firmware and Enterprise Cloud Manager (ECM) features, enhance Cradlepoint’s solutions for enterprise edge networks like retail, food & beverage, and branch office verticals, and transportation or in-vehicle networks like police and emergency responders, mass transit, mobile healthcare, and commercial fleets.

Emerson Network Power Partners with Cradlepoint to Bring Flexible, Proven 4G/LTE Connectivity to Critical Infrastructure

Emerson Network Power announced a strategic partnership with Cradlepoint, the global leader in software-defined 4G LTE network solutions for enterprises, to provide 4G/LTE cellular solutions for wireless out-of-band access in conjunction with the Avocent(TM) ACS6000 Advanced Console Server product line. The joint product solution is currently available in North America and Europe with limited availability in other regions. The Avocent ACS6000 serial console server product line is an industry leader for secure out-of-band (OOB) access to IT infrastructure equipment, such as network switches, servers, storage and power distribution units (PDU's), providing remote troubleshooting and management even when IP networks are down or have not even been provisioned. With product configurations to support connecting 4, 8, 16, 32 and 48 devices per appliance, the Avocent ACS6000 will primarily focus this partnered solution on the distributed and edge computing market segments. Key Cradlepoint feature offerings include GPS; dual-SIMs; Power-over-Ethernet; and most importantly, investment protection through software-defined radios, which may be reconfigured to meet future business needs.

Cradlepoint Empowers Connected Learning and Education-Focused Initiatives with E-Rate Eligible Solutions

Cradlepoint announced it is enabling school districts to provide always-on connectivity for evolving instructional needs with solutions that are newly eligible under E-rate funding. School districts experience a unique set of challenges including unreliable connectivity, maintaining compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and ensuring network agility for evolving school needs and emerging digital trends like online testing, streaming media and cloud-based applications. Cradlepoint now offers E-rate eligible solutions to enable schools to leverage 4G LTE as an overlay network to cost-effectively complement, augment and extend existing primary networks. This builds a strong foundation that is scalable, secure and agile to support the high-bandwidth educational applications that are becoming more critical to the learning environment. Educational network challenges are magnified due to the stringent budgets school districts must observe. The E-rate program is designed to financially assist K-12 schools and libraries to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access. Cradlepoint’s E-rate eligible solutions help qualifying schools realize the benefits of always-on connectivity. Whether it is in the interactive classroom, public library, on the school bus or anywhere in between, Cradlepoint is ensuring that learning can go beyond the traditional classroom environment, optimizing instructional time. Applications and solutions that are E-rate eligible include: Small School or Public Library: Cradlepoint’s AER3100 is a cost-effective ‘network-in-a-box’ solution for small schools and libraries and includes CIPA compliant filtering. (Content Filtering is not E-rate eligible.). Small Classroom/Facility: Cradlepoint’s AER1600 is an all-in-one solution for smaller classrooms, auxiliary, and testing facilities and can include CIPA compliant filtering. Mobile: Cradlepoint’s COR IBR1100 is a purpose-built, hardened device for bookmobiles and includes CIPA compliant filtering. (Content Filtering is not E-rate eligible.). Library Kiosk: Cradlepoint’s COR IBR650 M2M router provides network connectivity and management for remote library kiosks.
