Sound Physicians Announces Promotion of Lasongia Morton to Regional Medical Director

Sound Physicians announced the promotion of Lasongia Morton, MD to Regional Medical Director. Lasongia joined Sound Physicians in 2012 and most recently held the Chief Hospitalist position at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA. As Regional Medical Director, Lasongia will be directly responsible for the hospitalist programs in the southeast, driving improvements in quality, satisfaction and financial performance for medical centers in Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Lasongia will be working with the teams to ensure the hospital partner goals are met and will be involved in physician development activities for the hospitalist physicians in the area.

Sound Physicians Enters Agreement to Provide Hospitalist Services for Mercy Hospital & Medical Center

Sound Physicians announced an agreement to employ and manage a team of hospitalist physicians at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. Working with Mercy Hospital & Medical Center's leadership team, Sound Physicians will introduce its SoundConnect workflow and communications platform and processes to drive improvements in inpatient care outcomes, as well as financial performance. Sound Physicians will also apply its expertise in building high-performing hospitalist practices, including strong physician leadership, revenue cycle management and a track record of physician recruiting success.
