Sound Physicians announced that Michael Kedansky has joined the organization as chief medical officer of Transitional Care Services, effective April 28, 2015. As it's national leader of the clinical arm of Transitional Care Services, Kedansky will work closely with it's regional leadership teams and market leadership to drive the organization's vision of improving quality and reducing the cost of healthcare, specifically through enhancing its Transitional Care Services initiative.ost recently, Kedansky served as the Senior Medical Officer for CareMore Health Plan in Tucson. In this role, he was the clinical leader for the Tucson market and supervised clinical markets in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Richmond. He was responsible for providing hospitalist services for CareMore patients, as well as clinical management at skilled nursing facilities and discharge follow-up visits in the outpatient setting. He served as the primary contact for all physician partners and provided strategic and operating direction for the delivery of evidence-based medical management.

Sound Physicians announced the promotion of Lasongia Morton, MD to Regional Medical Director. Lasongia joined Sound Physicians in 2012 and most recently held the Chief Hospitalist position at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA. As Regional Medical Director, Lasongia will be directly responsible for the hospitalist programs in the southeast, driving improvements in quality, satisfaction and financial performance for medical centers in Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Lasongia will be working with the teams to ensure the hospital partner goals are met and will be involved in physician development activities for the hospitalist physicians in the area.
