Key Safety Systems, Inc., or KSS has opened a new airbag cushion factory in Kicevo, Macedonia. The factory has completed qualification activities and production shipments have begun. The new facility specializes in the cutting & sewing of airbag cushions and serves to expand KSS' global airbag production capacity. The new plant is KSS' first airbag cushion manufacturing plant located in Europe and is expected to employ 1,000 people when fully utilized.

Key Safety Systems, Inc. has announced the opening of its new Silicon Valley technical center located in Sunnyvale, California. The center will support advanced technology initiatives in both the active and passive safety arenas. In addition to serving as a focal point for collaborative development, it will also provide a liaison presence for West Coast customers and allow KSS to support independent technology projects and also seek new research and investment partners located throughout the region. The new center plans to recruit local employees in addition to rotating in employees from other existing KSS locations.
