Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. acquired full control of United Artists Media Group. Burnett has been named president of MGM Television and Digital Group. Burnett, who signed a five-year contract, will report directly to MGM CEO Gary Barber. Burnett's new appointment will occur simultaneously with the closing of MGM's acquisition of the remaining 45% of Hearst's, Burnett's and Downey's interests in UAMG, which will be absorbed under the MGM Television Group umbrella. As part of the new structure, Downey will serve as president of LightWorkers Media, which will be the faith and family division of MGM Television, and will report to Burnett. Downey will also serve as the chief content officer for the planned OTT channel. Additionally, Chris Ottinger has been promoted to president of worldwide television distribution & acquisitions for MGM, reporting directly to Barber. MGM president of television development & production Steve Stark will continue to oversee all scripted content and will report directly to Burnett in an expanded role. MGM president of domestic television distribution John Bryan will continue in his role overseeing domestic distribution. Roma Khanna has stepped down from her position as head of television and digital.
Relativity Media Assets Up For Sale

The film and TV assets of Relativity Media, LLC are expected to attract a host of potential bidders, including Carl Icahn, Carlos Slim, John Malone and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. The bidding consortium, called RM Bidder LLC, is believed to include Anchorage Capital Group, L.L.C., Falcon Investment Advisors, LLC, Luxor Capital Group, LP and Colbeck Capital Management is also bidding for TV assets.
Sinclair Broadcast Group and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Partner on First Ever Science Fiction Multi-Channel Network

Sinclair Television Group and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer announced a partnership to jointly create, develop, distribute and air the first ever 24 hour/7 day per week science fiction multi-channel network which will feature over 1,500 hours of premium MGM content. Under the ownership of Sinclair Television Group, MGM will handle certain operations of the network, including programming, and Sinclair Television Group Co-Chief Operating Officer, Steve Pruett, will oversee the venture for Sinclair. The announcement was made by David Amy, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and John Bryan, President, Domestic Television Distribution, MGM. The science fiction multi-channel network will initially debut in the fourth quarter of 2015 across approximately 30% of the country with Sinclair and MGM anticipating to enter into distribution deals with other broadcasters prior to launch. The network will feature a mix of science fiction, fantasy and adventure fan-favorite titles from MGM including television series such as "Stargate," "Poltergeist," "Outer Limits," and "Dead Like Me," among others.
