ALM Announces Management Appointments

ALM has announced that Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Lenny Izzo will step into the role of President of Legal Media, while current Chief Content Officer Molly Miller will also now serve as CMO. In his new role, Izzo will lead the growth strategy for all ALM legal media brands around the world regional, national and international publications, as well as reference solutions products such as Law Journal Press. Miller will lead corporate marketing for ALM, which includes legal, insurance, financial services, real estate, and consulting verticals. In addition to her role as CMO, Miller will lead the content strategy across ALM verticals to develop synergies between verticals and new monetization opportunities. Miller will utilize the two roles as a seamless platform for insuring that ALM content and marketing successfully engages critical audiences. Izzo joined ALM from Thomson Reuters, where he was vice president of marketing for the Small Law Business Unit of the company.

ALM Media Properties, LLC Announces Executive Appointments

ALM Media Properties, LLC announced the creation of a new leadership position, chief product & content officer, promoting Molly Miller, former publisher of The Recorder and Law.com to the new role. The company also announced the hiring of a new general counsel in top media lawyer Dana Rosen. Since joining ALM in July 2012, Miller has led The Recorder staff through a major transformation, engaging with a new audience while driving growth from innovative new events and products. She has a diverse professional background, beginning her career as a reporter, qualifying as an attorney, and then moving to media. Before joining the ALM ranks, she spent 15 years at LexisNexis, most recently as Vice President of Customer Discovery and Innovation. Dana Rosen will step into her position as general counsel at ALM after spending eight years as GC to Wenner Media. She previously worked as an associate general counsel at the Penguin Group and as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.

ALM Names Kevin Michielsen as President of its Legal Media Division

ALM announced the appointment of Kevin Michielsen to take on the leadership of a new business group that will support growth in the company's legal media business. Michielsen, the company's chief operating officer since 2012, has been named president of ALM's Legal Media Division. This new business unit will include all ALM legal media brands around the world - regional, national and international publications - as well as ALM's reference solutions products, which include Law Journal Press. Michielsen joined ALM in 2011 from Visant where he was vice president of strategy and business development. The announcement of Michielsen's promotion to lead ALM's new Legal Media Division comes on the heels of an announcement earlier this month about the formation of a new Legal Intelligence & Advisory Division.
