Consumers Energy Company Announces Management Appointments, Effective September 1, 2015

Consumers Energy Company announced two leadership changes. The appointments reinforce the Company's focus on delivering safe, reliable natural gas service, while supporting a tax and regulatory framework that allows customer-focused investments, infrastructure modernization and grid automation. Charles Crews will serve as vice president of gas operations, and Scott McIntosh will serve as vice president of tax. Both changes will take effect Sept. 1, 2015. Crews will have responsibility in the newly created position for gas distribution and the integrity of the company's gas system. Consumers Energy provides natural gas to 1.7 million homes and businesses, and the company has set records for delivering natural gas to customers in each of the last two colder-than-normal winters. McIntosh will have responsibility for Consumers Energy's tax department, including regulatory issues, domestic tax matters, and acquisitions and divestitures. He replaces Theodore Vogel, who is retiring. McIntosh has been with Consumers Energy for 11 years, serving most recently as director of tax compliance and accounting.

CMS Energy Corp. and Consumers Energy Appoint John G. Sznewajs as Board of Director

John G. Sznewajs, vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer of Masco Corporation, has been elected to CMS Energy's Board of Directors, effective July 15, 2015. He also is joining the Board of Directors of Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy. Sznewajs is responsible for strategic and operational financial functions for Masco. He also serves as Masco's corporate treasurer and has oversight of information technology and several of Masco's European businesses. In addition to his financial expertise, Sznewajs has almost 20 years of experience in business and corporate development.

Consumers Energy Names Brandon Hofmeister as Executive Director of Policy, Research and Public Affairs

Brandon Hofmeister has been named executive director of policy, research and public affairs for Consumers Energy, a newly created position. Hofmeister joined Consumers Energy in 2013, responsible for energy policy analysis and strategy, and sustainability. His new responsibilities also add oversight for public affairs strategy, including strengthening ties with the many Michigan communities served by Consumers Energy. Hofmeister succeeds Linda Sims, the former executive director for public affairs, who retires after a 30-year career with the Company and will now lead communications, marketing and external affairs for Saginaw Valley State University.
