Honda North America Announces Executive Changes

Honda Motor Co. announced that Takuji Yamada, American Honda executive vice president, will take over as president of Honda North America. The company also announced that Rick Schostek, senior vice president of Honda North America and Honda North America Services, will be executive vice president of Honda North America, overseeing planning, support and governance. Tetsuo Iwamura, who heads both American Honda and Honda North America, will become chairman of American Honda and take on the new role of corporate brand officer for Honda Motor Co. Frank Paluch, senior vice president of Honda North America Services, will take over as president of Honda R&D Americas Inc. in Raymond.
Honda North America Plans to Invest $180 Million to the Engine Plant in Anna, Ohio

Honda North America is planning to invest USD 180 million to the engine plant in Anna, Ohio, to boost aluminum die-casting and engine parts production. The investment will support engine parts production for the new Honda Earth Dreams Technology engines and transmissions, as well as a training centre for power train employees. Earth Dreams is an umbrella classification for a new generation of fuel-efficient, high-output engines sized from 1.3 liters to 3.5 liters. The Earth Dreams project includes gas and diesel engines, a hybrid engine system, a battery-powered electric drive system and a continuously variable transmission. The company also announced was a USD 35 million investment in an office and technical training centre in Marysville, Ohio. The complex, which will open in fall 2014, will encompass 165,000 square feet, and house a heritage center and a support services company (Honda North America Services LLC). The services company was created in April to coordinate North American sales and manufacturing arms.
