Mid Penn Bank is seeking regulatory approval to open a branch at 5288 Simpson Ferry Road in Mechanicsburg, adjacent to the Windsor Park Shopping Center in Lower Allen Township. The bank submitted an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. If approved, this will be Mid Penn Bank's second branch in Mechanicsburg. The bank's other Mechanicsburg location is at 4622 Carlisle Pike in Hampden Township. Mid Penn currently has 19 branches serving Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Luzerne, Northumberland and Schuylkill counties.

Mid Penn Bancorp Inc. and Mid Penn Bank, announced that it has successfully completed the merger of Phoenix Bancorp Inc., effective March 1, 2015, under the terms of the Agreement and Plan of Merger. Concurrently with the merger of Mid Penn and Phoenix, Phoenix's subsidiary bank, Miners Bank, was merged into and became part of Mid Penn Bank and now operates as 'Miners Bank', a Division of Mid Penn Bank. Vincent J. Land, Robert J. Moisey and Noble C. Quandel, Jr. have joined Mid Penn's and Mid Penn Bank's Board of Directors. Keefe, acted as financial advisor to Mid Penn, and Stevens and Lee, P.C. acted as its legal advisor in the transaction.
Mid Penn Bank Opens New Branch

Mid Penn Bank announced that it is opening its newest branch on February 2, 2015 at 2305 South Market Street in Elizabethtown. To celebrate the opening, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a reception inside the branch. The Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce, local officials, bank leadership and others will be in attendance. This will be Mid Penn's first branch in Lancaster County, extending the bank's footprint to include 15 branches in Central Pennsylvania. The location will have six employees to fulfill personal banking needs, business banking needs and lending needs.
