AMP Capital Plans To Sell Shares In The Underlying Portfolio

AMP Capital Investors Limited is planning to sell all the shares in the underlying portfolio of the fund. AMP Capital has issued a notice outlining details of how it intends to wind up AMP Capital China Growth Fund to shareholders. In the release it said, the RE (responsible entity) which is AMP Capital Funds Management, will sell all the underlying portfolio of China A shares (other than shares which are suspended or in trading halt) as soon as possible.

AMP Capital China Growth Fund reported earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2016. For the period, the company reported total investment loss of AUD 120,542,000 against total investment income of AUD 185,977,000 a year ago. Net loss attributable to unit holders before finance costs of AUD 123,059,000 against net profit attributable to unit holders before finance costs of AUD 185,582,000 a year ago. Net loss attributable to unit holders after finance costs was AUD 123,059,000 against net profit attributable to unit holders after finance costs of AUD 181,956,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per unit was AUD 0.29 against basic and diluted earnings per unit of AUD 0.49 per share a year ago. Net cash inflow from operating activities was AUD 50,056,000 against net cash outflow from operating activities of AUD 767,000 a year ago. AMP Capital China Growth Fund (ASX : AGF) announced a series of enhancements in September, 2015 aimed at making the fund more attractive to new investors. In May, 2016 it released results of a second strategic review, including proposals to increase the flexibility of the fund's investment mandate, reduce fees and allow unit-holders to receive 100% of their annual distributions in cash.
