Hightail Reportedly Appoints Advisor For Its Sale
Aug 11 14
Hightail Inc. has hired RBC Capital Markets as it engages in discussions to be acquired, reported CNBC.com citing sources familiar with the matter. Hightail has had talks with companies including Barracuda Networks, Inc. (NYSE:CUDA), NetApp, Inc. (NasdaqGS:NTAP) and Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ), said the sources, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are ongoing and there's no guarantee that a deal gets finalized. A larger acquirer could potentially tie Hightail's offering into a suite of products, by adding a user-friendly way for workers to save and send files. Representatives for Hightail and RBC declined to comment to CNBC.com as did a spokesperson for Hewlett-Packard. Calls to Barracuda and NetApp by CNBC.com weren't immediately returned.
Hightail Announces Integration with SkySync and Mover
Aug 7 14
Hightail announced integration with SkySync and Mover, enabling enterprise customers to easily sync, share, transfer or backup files across any connected system -- both on-premise and cloud-based. Hightail recognizes the significant investment enterprises have made in on-premise storage solutions, and unlike many of its competitors, the company doesn't think should have to replace current system to take advantage of the cloud. With 97% of businesses interested in hybrid cloud solutions, Hightail wants to enable their users to access their content no matter where it is stored: in the cloud, on-premise or in an online repository. The new partnership with SkySync and Mover will enable enterprises to connect to their storage provider of choice and leverage bi-directional syncing, migration and back-up abilities on nearly all on-premise and cloud-based storage services (e.g. SharePoint, Google Drive and Amazon S3). This gives enterprise users a streamlined experience for ultimate collaboration and productivity. By syncing content from internal repositories to Hightail, business users can utilize Hightail's control features such as passwords, expiration dates, tracking and read-receipts, when sharing with other users. With Hightail, users not only have the simplicity, but also the controls and security that are necessary when collaborating with users outside the company firewall.
