Futuren Negotiating Acquisition By EDF EN

EDF Energies Nouvelles S.A. is exclusively negotiating the potential acquisition of a majority stake in French wind power producer Futuren SA (ENXTPA:FTRN). The renewables arm of Electricité de France S.A. (EPA:EDF) has offered to pay €1.15 per share and €9.37 per convertible bond (OCEANE). The bid is directed towards various investment funds managed by Boussard & Gavaudan and some other investors, together holding 61.6% of Futuren's ordinary shares and 96% of its OCEANEs. The target noted that its board of directors had unanimously welcomed the offer. In the event that the proposed transaction is implemented, EDF EN would be required to launch a simplified tender offer (OPAS) over all remaining shares and OCEANEs. Any transaction would be subject to regulatory clearance.

EDF Energies Nouvelles SA Forms Partnership with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company

EDF Energies Nouvelles SA has formed a partnership with a consortium led by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (masdar) to develop phase 3 Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar project in Dubai. The total installed capacity of the project will be 800 MW and will b developed in three stages. The 200 MW phase A is currently under construction, and is due for completion by April 2018. The 300 MW phase B is expected to come on stream in April 2019, while the final 300 MW phase C is scheduled for April 2020. The project will be constructed based on the IPP model. The 800 MW phase 3 project is a part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park which has a planned capacity of 5,000 MW by 2030, and a total investment of USD 14 billion.

EDF Energies Nouvelles Selects for the Development of the 24MW PGL Floating Wind Farm at the Faraman Site

EDF Energies Nouvelles has been selected for the development of the 24MW PGL floating wind farm at the Faraman site located 15km off the coast. The PGL project will feature three Siemens-developed turbines with 8MW capacity each. The turbines will be installed on floating foundations, which will be provided by SBM and IPFEN. Additionally, Engie, EDP Renovaveis, French bank Caisse des depots (CDC) and Eiffage have secured contracts to build the 24MW EFGL wind farm about 13km off the coast in the Leucate area. GE will supply four 6MW turbines for the project, which will feature floating platform provided by Eiffage and PPI. The energy ministry also ordered coastline coordinators to assess and identify potential areas for future marine energy auctions, reported SeeNews Renewables.
