Amar Ujala Publications Ltd. is planning to launch a public offering in a second attempt to raise capital. According to people familiar with the matter, Amar Ujala expects to raise INR 4.5 billion through the offering. D. E. Shaw & Co to sell its stake in Amar Ujala through the public offering, as per sources.

Amar Ujala Reportedly To Go Under Ownership Changes

Rajul Maheshwari, the founder of Amar Ujala Publications Ltd., along with his family will purchase the 14% stake Ashok Agarwal and family for INR 1500 million, two persons familiar with the development said. The deal, for which an agreement was signed recently, will be funded through internal accruals and personal debt by the promoters, one of the two persons said. Rajul Maheshwari may sell shares back to the company in a buyback offer later to repay debt.
