AmeriHealth New Jersey and Meridian Health announced a collaboration to offer self-funded businesses in Monmouth and Ocean counties access to the AmeriHealth Advantage plan. Created to be mindful of a business’ budget and provide more choice, the AmeriHealth Advantage plan offers a tiered network option that has lower copays and out-of-pocket costs for members who utilize the Tier 1 network. Physicians that are part of Meridian Health Partners, Meridian’s clinically integrated network, will work together to improve the quality of care while controlling costs. With Meridian’s more than 100 convenient locations throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, members have access to high-quality care, close to home. Tier 2 provides members with access to AmeriHealth New Jersey’s broader Local Value Network across the entire state, which offers additional in-network options with an increase in copays and out-of-pocket costs.

Meridian Health Inc. announced the appointment of Steven G. Littleson, FACHE, as Executive Vice President for the health system. As Executive Vice President,Steve’s responsibilities will focus on operations for Meridian’s six hospitals as well as system wide initiatives and functions. Steve became president of Jersey Shore University Medical Center in 1998, shortly after Meridian Health was formed. Prior to that, Steve was the president and chief executive officer of Southern Ocean County Health System (now Southern Ocean Medical Center) from 1992 to 1998.
