Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation Appoints Erik Iverson as Managing Director

Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation announced that Erik Iverson, a high-level executive for the Infectious Disease Research Institute in Seattle and a former associate general counsel for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has been selected to be the next managing director. Iverson, an attorney, will succeed Carl Gulbrandsen, who has served as WARF's managing director since 2000. Gulbrandsen is retiring June 30. Iverson will start July 1. Iverson is now president, business and operations, for the Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI), which he joined in 2011. He oversees all operations, business development and external affairs for the global health research and product development organization that has developed vaccines and vaccine-related technologies.

Carl Gulbrandsen to Retire as Managing Director of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation

Carl Gulbrandsen announced that he is not retiring as managing director of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation because of Gov. Scott Walker's proposed cuts to the University of Wisconsin System. Gulbrandsen plans to retire early 2016 from WARF, where he has served since 1997 and been managing director since 2000.
